The BiUbe Aquarium Guide

The purpose of this site is to give people who are considering setting up an aquarium for the first time some information on this Reef One aquarium.

The information on this site is from the perspective of an owner who has successfully setup and run a biUbe for over a year as a home for tropical fish. The site is biased towards first timers setting up an aquarium, so if you’re an experienced fish keeper you may get a little bored…here’s why I created the site:

I tend to do a lot of research before I part with my cash, but when researching this aquarium there seemed to be very little on the web about it. The information at http://www.reef-one.com (the manufacturer) was limited and I wanted real owner’s opinions. There are bits and pieces about it on forums but no comprehensive reviews or resources.┬áHopefuly this site will overcome this and become an online meeting place for owners and potential owners.

Why did I decide on a biUbe?

My wife and I are both in the design industry and consequently things ‘must’ not only look aesthetically pleasing but also perform their function efficiently, be value for money and be low maintenance. We are both animal lovers and wanted an aquarium to accompany our two dogs! After looking at many aquariums – including the better known biOrb – we decided upon the biUbe for the following reasons:

  1. Its design is timeless; it grabs people’s attention but does not look gimmicky.
  2. All of the parts are well designed and have been manufactured to a very high standard from top quality materials.
  3. It’s upgradeable and has a lot of optional accessories that allow you to personalise and improve it.
  4. Its very easy to setup – see my setting up your biUbe article for hints and tips not contained in the manual.
  5. It’s even easier to maintain; if you follow the maintenance guide it almost keeps it’s self clean.
  6. It creates a healthy environment for fish to live in and they seem to be very happy!
  7. It offers the flexibility to have either tropical fish, marine fish or coldwater fish in it.

Throughout this site you will find articles on setting up a biUbe, things to watch out for, advice on how to make maintaining your aquarium as easy as possible. I’ll be adding articles as quickly as I can write them about what fish I’ve got, some fish that are unsuitable, upgrades that I have made and what I’d like to do in the future. If you have any questions about any of the articles leave me a comment and I’ll try to get back to you in a ‘timely’ manner!
